“Success is a lousy teacher. It seduces smart people into thinking they can’t lose.”                                                                                         – Bill Gates

Have you noticed that people older than about 25 are Facebook whores.  These people joined Facebook once it opened to the public (and not just for college students).  They are constantly posting pics, writing on their friends walls, updating their status, etc.

Here is an interesting article in the NYT about how young adults are a bit smarter about what they post on the site.

Some interesting facts of Facebook users in the United States:

# of people aged 13-17:
11,688,420

# of people aged 33-77:
10,796,880

Holy Crap!  Jordan Romero, 13, from California has become the youngest person to climb the tallest mountain in the world.  The record was previously held by Ming Kipa of Nepal, who was 15 when she made the climb in 2003 with her brother and sister.

This just made my day!

Taiwanese singer Lin Yu-chun — is riding high this week after inking a major label record deal. Sony Music said in a statement Thursday that Lin, the bowl cut-sporting singer whose rendition of ‘I Will Always Love’ on a TV talent show made him a star just a month ago, will release an album of Chinese and English songs in July.

SFMOMA Expansion

May 12, 2010

Here are the finalist for the SFMOMA expansion project.

Adjaye Associates, Diller Scofidio + Renfro, Foster + Partners, and Snøhetta. That lands Diller Scofidio + Renfro in the second hot Bay Area museum shortlist in as many months, following last month’s Berkeley Art Museum announcement of its own new-building architect list. SFMOMA’s director was quick to note that they didn’t review actual design concepts from eachinterviewed firm on their shortlist: “We emphasized that we were not interviewing for a design, we were interviewing for a designer. We wanted to see how these teams think, the intellectual spirit and the creativity.” -via CurbedSF

Cool video comparing the speed of Chrome to a potato cannon, sound and lightning.  Thanks for the tip Joe!
