Take Me There

January 30, 2010

I have been craving warm tropic weather for months!  Verana looks like the perfect place.  Will someone please take me here?

A 3 HOUR flight takes you from L.A. to Puerto Vallarta.  A quick drive gets you to Boca de Tomatlan— the last beach you can reach by car. From there it’s a 30 minute boat ride along the beautiful coast to Yelapa.  They will be waiting for you at the beach with mules to take you and your luggage to our hillside location.

Private bungalows (chef included)!  Pretty reasonable too.  About $360/night plus $80 for food a day.  Minimum 5 night stay. Visit Verana.

Tiger’s Milk

January 29, 2010

This is no joke!  Sai Mai, a 26-month-old female tiger, plays with baby pigs at a zoo in Thailand’s Chonburi province, 80 kilometers (50 miles) east of Bangkok, on May 7, 2004?. The Royal Bengali tigress was born in captivity and breast-fed by a female pig for four months after her birth.  A piglet sleeps on a tiger at Sriracha zoo, 80 km (50 miles) east of the Thai capital Bangkok on 2, July 2004. The zoo is trying to boost visitor numbers by teaching domestic animals such as pigs, and wild animals such as tigers, to live together in harmony from an early age.

Bachelor Pad No More

January 27, 2010

A look into the current state of bachelors pads.  Entertaining read.  However, I don’t think it is a result of the current economic situation tho.  I think guys today just don’t care.

BACHELORS always seemed to have it made. With only themselves to support, they could flash their cash and trick out their apartments in such a way that James Bond himself would feel at home shaking himself a martini in their ultra-cool, chick-magnet pads.

Then the recession thundered in, and suddenly young men found themselves one of the hardest hit demographic segments.

If the high-style bachelor apartment was at its core intended as a lure for love interests, a move toward a more ascetic place might seem to clash with this goal. But some bachelors with pared-down pads disagree.

Mr. Brooks, the former MTV host, thinks the flashiness of a bachelor’s apartment no longer matters.

“The great thing about a recession is that girls are not going to pass you up,” he said, “because every other guy they are meeting isn’t doing that great either.”

Down On My Knees

January 22, 2010

I was watching the “Hope For Haiti Now” telethon an TV.  Countless actors and musicians gave their time for this great cause.  Then, suddenly, something strange happened….Madonna sang “Like a Prayer” (with a full choir, might I add).  Does she forget what this song is about?!?!?!  Oh.My.God!

When you call my name, it’s like a little
Prayer. I’m down on my knees, I wanna take you
There. In the midnight hour, I can feel your
Power just like a prayer. You know I’ll take
You there.

Like a child, you whisper softly to me. You’re
In control just like a child, now I’m dancing.
It’s like a dream, no end and no beginning.
You’re here with me, it’s like a dream. Let
The choir sing.

Note: This song was condemned by Christian organizations upon its release in 1989
