A CROSSROAD CALLED MANZANAR is a completed feature-length screenplay written by Cindy Fang and Alice Kim. An adapted short film version is currently in pre-production with a grant from the California Civil Liberties Public Education Program.

A Crossroad Called Manzanar is a historically-accurate narrative short film, set in California during World War II. In the wake of Pearl Harbor, racial tensions deepen in Boyle Heights, a diverse suburb of Los Angeles. Anti-Japanese propaganda crop up all around town, and Japanese-owned businesses are vandalized. As the xenophobia increases, the Chinese residents of Boyle Heights feel pressured to distinguish themselves from their unpopular Japanese neighbors.

They are currently casting.  Check out the website for more info.
